Totally agree, Madeleine. Each has to be bigger and brighter and 'more look at me' than the last. The skyscrapers of Canary Wharf work because they sit on the old docks with wildfowl nesting at their feet, and between them are leafy squares full of sculpture.

Central London should have been just that, central London, not a bad New York canyonland overpowering its heritage.
