The *reasons* given for the removal of the Avatars are almost a clone of why banks in the UK shut small town branches. Everyone uses online banking now... So what was the queue at our small branch most days?

When the guillotine fell, even the staff were shocked due to the amount of custom they handled. So were the staff of the bankvan that arrived twice a week to replace the branch, having to handle a queue of 45 minutes wait for their two-hour slot. The bankvan now comes once a fortnight. Nuff said.

For some perspective, our town of 9k people plus surrounding villages had three banks at the time. They all closed within four months of one another.
