Snake plant? We've always called it Mother-in-law's Tongue, though I bet it goes by lots of non-Latin names. And you are right about creativity. After it standing within eyesight, its colours sheening in the changes of daylight, it starred in a short story.

I actually like the fact that you have dedicated spaces for a multitude of plants, all looking non-dusty, amid the ongoing overspill of working life.
