Oh, tell me about it [rolls eyes]. Here in the UK even Vitamin B12 is not automatically tested, and then it is only Serum and not Active. After insisting on a test my B12 serum came back at 172pmol/L, on a range of 115-1000, and the GP said that as it was within range it was "fine". The idea is that I should be left until it returns as critical. I have sub-clinical Hashimoto's Hypothyroidism and buy the relevant tests to augment those the NHS *sometimes* provides.

Vitamin & mineral research should be funded from the public purse for the sake of the public purse. Supporting people with chronic illness is not cheap.
