LOL! I can do better. Brought up in the city of Hull, we had a house for two years in a village only 11 miles away. I never did learn to understand one of the farmers from the village (ie a village farm and not a secluded ‘country’ farm). Years later I recognised the accent and some of his word terms were closer to Norwegian, if not Old Norse, than modern English. My pal from Iceland could probably have understood him no problem.
