Belcairn, thank you sooo much for mentioning the Singer Clydebank factory. I don't know if my machine came from it, though I do believe it was manufactured in Britain, so Clydebank would be the one. Having looked it up, what a fascinating history it has, even to 11,000 employees striking in 1911 (it was a year of country-wide turmoil, as there were mass strikes in Hull, Yorkshire).
